A celebration of new wine – buvons le vin nouveau! Each year the third Thursday in November marks the release of the Beaujolais Nouveaux – a wine made only from Gasmay grapes hand picked in the vineyards of the Beaujolais region. Made very quickly, not long after the grapes are harvested, this young wine is typically enjoyed immediately. Thus this illustration by Savignac, a newborn bottle ready for the tasting. Or as we like the think of it on certain days: ‘nursing a hangover’.
